Report on an Ordinance entitled
An Ordinance to consolidate and amend the law relating to
the powers of arrest vested in Revenue Officers.

The object of this Ordinance is to place altogether
all
of in one enactment,the powers which Revenue Officers possess for
arresting without warrant.
These po ers, with one exception mentioned in the second
paragraph of this Report, were already possessed by Revenue
Officers and lie scattered in different provisions of different
Ordinances.

The only addition by the present Bill the powers

already held by Revenue officers is that of arrest of persons
contravening the provisions of the Post Office Ordinance,1900.

In my opinion this is an Ordinance to which His Ex-
cellency the Governor may properly assent in the name of His
Majesty and on His behalf.
